Goa– Manolo Marquez’s FC Goa aims to cap off the year on a high note by taking on league leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant in their last Indian Super League (ISL) match of the season, set to take place at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa this Friday.
Goa had a tough start to the season, managing just one win in their first six matches. However, with the return of centre-back Sandesh Jhingan, the team seems to have hit its stride, winning four out of their last five games and drawing the most recent match 2-2 against Bengaluru.
Its performance has propelled it to fourth place in the standings, and a victory over the Mariners would elevate it to third after 12 matches, leaving them just one point shy of the top two positions, which guarantee an automatic semifinal berth.
