DRI के Mumbai Zonal Unit ने ‘Operation Dhahabu Blitz’ नाम से यह स्पेशल ऑपरेशन चलाया। ‘Dhahabu’ शब्द Swahili भाषा से लिया गया है, जिसका मतलब होता है ‘Gold’।
सूत्रों के मुताबिक DRI को पहले से पुख्ता इनपुट मिला था कि Kenya के Nairobi से कुछ महिलाएं बड़ी मात्रा में सोना छुपाकर मुंबई आने वाली हैं। इसी इनपुट के आधार पर एयरपोर्ट पर निगरानी बढ़ाई गई और जैसे ही फ्लाइट उतरी, 24 महिलाओं को रोका गया।
