फानी नामक चक्रवात के ओडिशा मे टकराने से यहां का जनजीवन काफी प्रभावित हुआ है मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक 200 किमी प्रति घंटे से भी तेज़ हवाएं यहां चल रही हैं और साथ ही बारिश भी हो रही है!
माना जा रहा है कि फानी की वजह से करीब दस हज़ार गांव और 52 शहर प्रभावित हो रहे हैं, लोगों के रहने के लिए पांच हज़ार शेल्टर होम बनाए गए हैं! तट से टकराने के बाद सारा मंज़र ही यहां का बदल गया है!
चक्रवात फानी के आने की खबर के बीच पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने भी अगले 48 घंटे के लिए अपनी चुनावी जनसभाओं को रद्द कर दिया है! परिस्थितियों पर काबू पाने के लिए तटरक्षक बल ने दो चेतक हेलीकॉप्टर के साथ चार जहाजों को तैनात किया है! इन जहाजों में 8 रेस्क्यू टीम मौजूद हैं!
‘फानी’ चक्रवात के लिए केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने हेल्प लाइन नंबर ‘1938’ जारी किया है!
