घटना 13 अगस्त की है, जब स्कूल के टॉयलेट में दो किंडरगार्टन की बच्चियों के साथ सफाईकर्मियों ने यौन शोषण किया। इसके बाद 16 अगस्त को एक बच्ची ने अपने माता-पिता को इस घटना के बारे में बताया, फिर आरोपी अक्षय शिंदे को 17 अगस्त को गिरफ्तार किया गया।
इस मामले में स्कूल की संबंधित प्रधानाध्यापिका को लापरवाही के लिए निलंबित कर दिया गया है। साथ ही, बच्चों की देखभाल करने वाले दो नौकरों को भी बर्खास्त कर दिया गया है।
मंगलवार को प्रदर्शनकारियों ने पुलिस कर्मियों पर पत्थर फेंके और विरोध प्रदर्शन के दौरान स्कूल की इमारत में तोड़फोड़ की। पुलिस ने प्रदर्शनकारियों पर लाठीचार्ज किया।
रेल सेवाएं बंद कर दी गई, इंटरनेट सेवाओं पर भी रोक लगा दी गई, हालांकि बाद में लोकल ट्रेन सेवाएं फिर से शुरू कर दी गईं और इंटरनेट भी बहाल कर दिया गया।
मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने इस मामले पर एलान किया कि आरोपियों पर सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी और फास्ट ट्रैक कोर्ट में तत्काल मुकदमा चलाने का आदेश दिया है।
इस मामले में राष्ट्रीय बाल अधिकार संरक्षण आयोग (एनसीपीसीआर) का कहना है कि मामले की जांच के लिए एक टीम बदलापुर जाएगी।
उप मुख्यमंत्री एवं गृहमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने मामले में SIT का गठन किया है। वरिष्ठ आईपीएस अधिकारी आरती सिंह की अध्यक्षता में मामले की जांच की जाएगी।
पत्थरबाजी और अन्य अपराधों के सिलसिले में अब तक कुल 300 लोगों के खिलाफ FIR दर्ज की गई है और अब तक 40 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया जा चुका है।
इस मामले पर विपक्षी दलों ने आरोप लगाया कि बच्चियों के माता-पिता को पुलिस स्टेशन में 11 घंटे तक इंतजार करना पड़ा, उसके बाद शिकायत दर्ज की गई।
FIR में हुई देरी को लेकर कर्तव्य में लापरवाही के खिलाफ तीन पुलिस अधिकारियों को निलंबित कर दिया गया।

घटना 17 अगस्त 2024 के रात लगभग 10:45 की है। जब फरियादी इरानीवाडी रोड़ नंबर 2 के वृंदावन टॉवर में पूजा पाठ करने के बाद वो अपने रिश्तेदार अजित गग्निहोत्री के साथ लालजीपाडा अपने घर वापस जा रहे थे। अभिलाख नगर और न्यू लिंक रोड़ के चौराहे पर सुलभ शौचालय के नजदीक गाड़ी मोडते समय उनकी स्कूटर को अचानक सामने से एक बाइक सवार ने टक्कर मार दी और वो गाड़ी से गीर पड़े। इसपर टक्कर मारने वाले मोटरसाइकिल चालक से बहस के साथ धक्कामुक्की हुई।
धक्कामुक्की के बाद मोटरसाइकिल से टक्कर मारने वाला वहां से भाग गया। लेकिन फरियादी को पैर में चोट लगने के कारण वो कुछ समय तक वहीं रास्ते की साइड पर बैठ गए और कुछ समय बाद दोनों घर के लिए निकले तो उनकी स्कूटर के सामने वहीं टक्कर मारने वाला अपनी मोटरसाइकिल लगा कर रोकने लगा और बहस करने लगा कि “तुमने मुझे धक्का क्यों मारा।” इसपर बहस और बढ़ गई। इसी दरम्यान तीन और लोग आ गए और फरियादी और उनके रिश्तेदार के साथ हाथापाई करते हुए बांबू से पीटा गया। इसी बीच एक ने अपने जेब से चाकू निकालकर फरियादी के पेट में घूसा दिया। लेकिन फरियादी ने अपने आप को बचा लिया इस बीच चाकू का वार फरियादी के कंधे पर लगा और वो वहीं पर लहू लूहान हो गए।
मौके पर देखने वाले तमाशबीन बन वीडियो रिकॉर्डिंग कर रहे थे। कोई भी बीच बचाव करने नहीं गया। लेकिन खबर की जानकारी मिलते ही, कांदीवली पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और फरियादी को शताब्दी अस्पताल ले गई और फरियादी का बयान दर्ज कर 22 वर्षीय आरोपी प्रथम दिगंबर खिल्लारे और 22 वर्षीय छोटू मनिहार को गिरफ्तार किया है।
कांदीवली पुलिस थाने के वरिष्ठ पुलिस निरीक्षक ज्ञानेश्वर रामनाथ गणोरे ने बताया कि घटना की जानकारी प्राप्त होते ही रात की ड्यूटी पर तैनात पुलिस निरीक्षक सदाशिव सावंत और क्राइम डिटेक्शन की टीम ने मौके पर पहुंच कर पूरे मामले की पड़ताल की है। हालांकि चोट के इलाज में अस्वस्थ होने के कारण फरियादी दूसरे दिन शाम को फरियाद लिखी गई। इसमें आरोपियों के खिलाफ गुनाह रजिस्टर्ड क्रमांक 477/2024 में भारतीय न्याय संहिता 2023 की धारा 109, 115(2), 118(1), 226(1), 281 और 3(5) के तहत चार आरोपियों के खिलाफ मुकदमा दर्ज किया गया है। इसमें दो की गिरफ्तारी के बाद और दो लोगों को पुलिस तलाश कर रही है।
बता दें कि कांदीवली (पश्चिम) का न्यू लिंक रोड़ इलाका इसके पहले भी कई बार अपराधिक मामलों के लिए सुर्खियां बटोर चूका है। 2022 और 23 की दो अंधाधुंध फायरिंग की घटनाओं में दो लोगों की मौत हुुई है। 2023 में 32 वर्षीय एक युवक की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई। मृतक की पहचान मनोज सिंह चौहान के रूप में हुई थी। जो इमिटेशन ज्वेलरी का काम करता था। 2022 के अंधाधुंध फायरिंग मामलें में आरोपी को गिरफ्तार करने के लिए कांदीवली पुलिस को बिहार और नेपाल के बॉर्डर तक जाकर इलाके को खंगालना पड़ा था। लालजीपाडा के लोग इन दहशतगर्दी के आलम को भूल भी नहीं पा रहे हैं कि इस ताज़ा घटना ने एक बार फिर से यहां लोगों के बीच दहशत निर्माण कर दिया है। यहां मुंबई पुलिस को और भी सख्ती से निपटने की जरुरत है।
